I became The foster parent to my NIECE AND NEPHEW the same day as COVID-19 was declared a national emergency in the US.

In March 2020, I was a VP with a team of 40 people under me. I was a childfree single woman. My niece and nephew, both under 2 years of age, were removed from their parents. I became their foster parent on March 13, the same day as COVID-19 was declared a national emergency in the US. The next 15 months of my life were some of the most beautiful, stressful, heartbreaking, and joyful as I parented 2 babies, worked remotely, led my team through the crisis (and to record breaking profits), and navigated the chaos of the foster system and the emotions of being a foster parent. The littles were eventually reunified with their birth mother and my life returned to "normal," but I was forever changed.
