Doing a phone screen for a MBB consulting firm 5 ft from where I watched my mom die. I got the job.

I lived overseas for over 8 years. I came back to the States in my 20s to take care of my mother who had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. It was largely just me and my brother by ourselves taking care of my mom, who had been a single parent. This was a lot for a 20 something year old to handle. After my mom passed away, I remember doing a phone screen for a MBB consulting firm 5 ft from where I watched my mom die. I got the job.
